Hi, I’m Melissa J. Ashley—though most people call me Missy—and I’ve been working in the insurance industry since 2005. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with top companies like State Farm and New York Life, where I honed my expertise. After spending more than eight years as a captive agent, I decided in 2012 to become an independent broker. This gave me the freedom to offer my clients a range of options and competitive prices, no longer limited to just one company’s products.




I’ve also been an authorized agent with the Health Insurance Marketplace since it launched on October 1, 2013. Specializing in health insurance and life insurance, I love helping individuals and families find the coverage that suits their unique needs.




Navigating the ACA Marketplace can be complicated, but that’s where I come in. These plans are customized based on household income, family size, and ages, and I work to ensure that my clients maximize their tax credits to lower monthly premiums and out-of-pocket costs. If the marketplace isn’t the right fit, I also explore alternative options like short-term medical or Off-Exchange health plans.
